Why are gifts given to the Memorial Fund?
To acknowledge someone's loss of a loved one or in gratitude for special events, such as a birthday or anniversary.

What are these gifts used for?
They serve to continue the enrichment of the service of the church, and funds are never used to support the annual operating budget.

Ways to contribute:

  • A bequest is a gift stipulated in a will or trust which is presented after the Donor dies. 
  • A living gift, which could be cash, securities or property, is one that takes effect the moment the donor makes it. Several Life Income Plans are available which guarantee the donor life income or annuity, reduce or eliminate various taxes and provide eventual benefit to the Church.
  • Naming our Church as the beneficiary of an insurance policy enables you to make a large gift to the church at a relatively small outlay. 
  • Memorial Bricks. Donate a brick in memory of a loved one. $500 purchases a 4"x8" red brick and $1,000 purchases an 8"x8" red brick. 

How do I make a donation to the Memorial Fund?

A check made out to FPCL Memorial Fund may be sent to the church office or placed in the offering plate during a worship service. Include the name of the person in whose memory the gift is given. Include the name and address of the family member so we can reach out and let them know a gift has been received.

  • Do you create a family budget and wonder how to make it balance?

  • Do you often think, if only we did not have to make the house payment or the car payment how much easier our family budget would be, and how much more money we would have to work with?

 

Our church is somewhat the same; we have a budget based on our giving.
Each year we must balance our budget to pay salaries, maintenance, utilities, insurance, custodial, our mortgage, and also fulfill our mission efforts.
The monthly mortgage payment is several thousand dollars.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we did not have to make that payment? 
We could use the money to expand living out God’s Word through things such as mission work, youth activities, as well as so much more! Donations to the Freedom Campaign are applied directly to the principal balance of the loan. These direct donations save us large amounts of interest over the life of the loan. A payment such as $10,000 would save the church approximately $5,000 in interest expense, while reducing the final balance. Please prayerfully consider helping our church family pay the mortgage. Pledge cards are in the office and can be filled out and returned in the Sunday offering plate or the office.

Do you need a tax break?
Please consider a donation this year to reduce your taxes for the tax year you donate. Any donations toward the Freedom Campaign go directly to reduce the principal. Thank you for your help.

The matching portion of money received have paid for the new roof for the Sanctuary in 2011 and the replacement of recalled fire sprinklers in the Sanctuary in 2013!
