Monthly Labyrinth Walks

The practice of walking a labyrinth can be a powerful meditative tool and a pathway to an enhanced spiritual life. Our church hosts monthly labyrinth walks on the third Friday evening of each month in the sanctuary or courtyard from 7 to 8:30 p.m. If you haven't walked a labyrinth before and would like to learn more, a labyrinth facilitator will be available to assist you. Let go of the stresses of the week and renew yourself with this ancient Christian practice. If you would like more information about these walks or about labyrinths in general, please contact the church office.

Guidelines for walking the labyrinth:

Quiet your mind and become aware of your breath and then start your walk. Allow yourself to walk at a pace that is comfortable for you.···
The path is two ways. Those going in will meet those coming out. You may pass people or let others step around you. This is easiest at theturns. Do what feels natural when you meet someone.···
The journey in allows you to release thoughts and distractions and let go of the details of life. You can open your heart and quiet yourmind.···
When you reach the center, stay there as long as you like. It is a place for peace, meditation and prayer.···
The journey out prepares you for your re-entry into the world. You can integrate the experience of your walk into your daily life.

Each walk is different - you will hear different noises, feel a change of breeze or sunlight, walk alone or with others. Use anything you
experience as a metaphor for your life and your relationship with God.
